Association for the Preservation of Traditional Swordsmanship

The Dentō Kenjutsu Hozon Kyōkai is the official governing body for all affiliated Kenjutsu schools within our organization. Committed to the preservation, advancement, and standardization of classical Japanese swordsmanship, we ensure that the teachings of traditional Kenjutsu remain authentic while adapting to modern training environments.

Our mission is to preserve the rich heritage of traditional Kenjutsu, ensuring that its techniques, philosophies, and cultural significance are passed down to future generations. We strive to maintain the authenticity of this martial art while adapting to contemporary contexts, fostering both personal growth and cultural appreciation among practitioners.

Roles as the Governing Body

As the central authority overseeing all member schools, Dentō Kenjutsu Hozon Kyōkai provides:

Standardized Training & Curriculum – Ensuring consistency in technical instruction, grading, and philosophy across all affiliated dojos.

Certification & Ranking System – Official licensing, dan rankings, and instructor certification for practitioners under our guidance.

Historical & Cultural Preservation – Archiving and maintaining the authenticity of classical Kenjutsu traditions, kata, and weapons training.

Dojos & Instructor Support – Providing resources, seminars, and mentorship to help affiliated schools grow and thrive.

International Recognition & Events – Organizing demonstrations, and seminars to promote Kenjutsu globally.

Leadership & Instructors

Dentō Kenjutsu Hozon Kyōkai is led by respected Shihan and Sensei, who bring decades of experience in classical swordsmanship. Their role is to guide, evaluate, and support both instructors and students in maintaining the high standards of Kenjutsu practice.

Affiliated Dojos inside DKHK

Every dojo under our organization follows the principles and regulations set forth by Dentō Kenjutsu Hozon Kyōkai. This ensures that each school maintains the integrity and discipline necessary to pass down the art of the samurai.

Affiliated schools receive official recognition, access to advanced training resources, and the opportunity to participate in exclusive kenjutsu events.
